2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza revealed fully in spy shots

Written by Rohit Tonapi

The upcoming all-new Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been spotted without any camouflage while shooting for a commercial. Maruti Suzuki continues to do well in the hatchback and MPV segments. However, when it comes to the SUV segment, competitors like Hyundai, Kia and Tata are way ahead in sales.

To keep up with the competition and for the company to get a larger share of the SUV market, the company will soon bring in the updated Brezza. Maruti Suzuki will likely launch the Brezza in June this year. Expect a minor increase in price owing to the new features it will offer.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza – What Do The Spy Shots Show?

The 2022 Brezza receives a complete design overhaul, and it shows. In addition to this, the Brezza will also drop its ‘Vitara’ from its name. The new design makes the SUV appear much larger than before. Similar to the newly-launched Baleno, the Brezza also receives a new front- and rear-end design.

The biggest changes to the front are the grille and the headlights. The grille now gets horizontal chrome slates with arrow-shaped inserts. These inserts also merge with the headlight’s chrome inserts. The headlights use a twin-pod design with new LED DRLs. These DRLs also double up as side-turn indicators. The Brezza gets changes to the bumper, too and now gives it a more upright SUV stance.

The side of the car shows the new dual-tone alloy wheels. We also see a lot of black cladding and the dual-tone colour option. The rear of the Brezza looks a lot different than the current one. The bumpers get a redesign and feature silver skid plates. The taillights now have a wraparound design and are much slimmer than before. Between the taillights, we also see bold Brezza lettering.

We don’t get a clear look at the interior of the car. However, one of the images does show us the steering wheel design and the floating touchscreen infotainment display. The infotainment system in the 2022 Brezza will most likely be the same as in the new Baleno.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza – Powertrain

The updated Brezza will continue to use the same engine options as before. Hence, powering it will be the 1.5-litre Dual Jet engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology. The engine produces 104 HP of power and 138 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a manual and automatic. However, according to reports, a new 6-speed torque converter automatic will replace the current 4-speed torque converter automatic. The manual transmission will continue to be a 5-speed unit. Maruti Suzuki could also offer a CNG variant of the car at launch or at a later stage.
