2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto new-generation model starts road testing

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the new-generation Alto in the Indian market. The brand is currently testing the new hatchback on public roads, as seen in the spy shots. Images of the entry-level hatchback have emerged on the internet, giving is a glimpse of what to expect in the near future. The third-generation model comes with a new platform, changes to the exterior, new interiors, and new features. The new Alto could also get tweaks to the engine, making it a ground-up overhaul.

According to spy shots, the testing still appears to be in the development stage. The spied model comes with a new front fascia which appears sleeker than before. The brand is also likely to employ sleek headlamps that mingle well with the new grille. The brand is also likely to feature a newly redesigned front and rear bumper and a new taillamp with a unique light signature. The new Alto is also likely to underpin the HEARTECT platform and could slightly grow in size. The new car is also likely to offer more space on the interiors thanks to the optimised platform. 

2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto – Interiors and Features 

The new Maruti Suzuki Alto is likely to come with a new dashboard and interior features. The brand will employ a semi-digital instruments cluster along with a large centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system on the higher-spec models. Maruti Suzuki is also likely to upgrade the seat upholstery and offer more safety features as compared to the predecessor. 

2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto – Engine Speculations

The new Maruti Suzuki Alto is likely to come with the same BS6 compliant 796cc three-cylinder motor. But the brand is likely to upgrade the engine with new dual-jet injectors adding performance as well as efficiency to the motor. The car is also likely to come with both manual and AMT automatic transmissions. Maruti Suzuki could also offer the Alto with a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fuel option from the factory.
