Kia has introduced the new Kia Carens at a global digital and physical premiere. The new MPV comes with an all-new design language and claims to offer Recreational Vehicle-like features. The brand has revealed that ‘Carens’ nomenclature has been derived from ‘Car’ and ‘Rennaisance’. The brand believes that the new MPV will bring a new change to the three-row vehicle segment with the Carens. Kia has not revealed the price of the Carens in the Indian market yet.
The new Kia Carens will come with the Opposites United design philosophy. The design language draws inspiration from the contrasting features found in nature. The Carens will be the first Kia car in India to be based on the Opposites United design philosophy. On the outside, the Kia Carens features star map LED DRLs along with LED headlamps mounted wide in the front fascia.
The MPV comes with a knurled grille applique and a mesh on the lower grille. The Kia Carens feature muscular SUV-like looks with rounded wheel arches and large dual-tone alloy wheels that fill up the wheel wells. The Carens also come with a progressive roofline and a chiselled tail section. The taillight also features an LED star map design and comes with a chrome applique on the bumper.
Kia claims that the Carens will be one of the safest cars in the Indian market. The Kia Carens will come with 6 airbags as standard. The brand will also offer the MPV with all-four disc brakes. The Carens MPV also comes with active safety features such as electronic stability control, hill assist control, tyre pressure monitoring system and a lot more.
Kia has not revealed full details of the powertrain but revealed that the MPV will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The brand will also offer manual and automatic transmission options on the Kia Carens. Kia will also offer the Carens MPV with Multi Drive Modes – Eco, Normal and Sport.
The Kia Carens will come with features such as 10.25-inch Audio Video Navigation Telematics (AVNT) system integrated into the wraparound dashboard fascia. The MPV features ventilated front seats, which will be a great addition considering the Indian weather. The Kia Carens also features a full-digital instruments cluster recessed into the dashboard.
The central console also comes with hotkeys and smart trays for the smartphone. The Carens also comes with smart air-conditioning with vents for rear row passengers. The MPV will also comes with spacious interiors with retractable seats, with indigo and light beige two-tone upholstery. The Kia Carens MPV will come with three exterior colour options Imperial Blue, Moss Brown and Sparkling Silver.
