2022 Hyundai Tucson – Exterior Highlights

The 2022 Tucson follows the brand’s global ‘Sensous Sportiness’ design philosophy. The design language creates progressive design elements through geometric algorithms. The brand calls this process Parametric Dynamism. It gets a dark chrome parametric front grille with hidden LED headlights and LED DRLs.

On the side, the Tucson gets Z-shaped side character lines which exude a sporty and aggressive look. The SUV also rides on 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with wide 235-section tyres. Further enhancing the side profile are the roof rails and the Satin Chrome DLO moulding.

At the back, connecting LED taillight with unique light details also carries the same Parametric theme as the front. The 2022 Tucson also features a 3D logo garnished below the rear windscreen. Additionally, the 2022 Tucson features a segment-first concealed rear wiper and washer. There’s also a high-mounted LED stop lamp integrated into a spoiler. On the roof, completing the look, is the shark-fin antenna.

2022 Hyundai Tucson – Interior Highlights

The interiors follow the ‘Interspace’ design theme. The brand claims this is where the space, technology and information organically intersect. The interiors also have a flowing design across the cabin. Meanwhile, the dashboard has a cascading design. At the same time, the 2022 Tucson also gets premium black and light grey dual-tone interiors, lending it an airy and luxurious feel. Further enhancing the sense of spaciousness is the panoramic sunroof.

As a Hyundai, it would be wrong not to expect a big feature list, and the Tucson does not disappoint. The front seats get heated as well as ventilation function for more comfort. The driver’s seat also gets 10-way power adjustability with memory function, while the passenger front seat gets 8-way power adjustability. Another first-in-segment feature is the Multi Air Mode. It activates a gentle airflow from the multiple vents on the dashboard for a superior level of comfort.

The Indian market gets the extended wheelbase version of the Tucson. Thus, there’s plenty of legroom for the rear passengers. The second-row seats also have a tilt function which helps in achieving a comfortable position. The seats also fold in a 60:40 split for times when you need additional luggage space. The 2022 Tucson also gets a hands-free smart power tailgate with a height adjustment function.

2022 Hyundai Tucson – Powertrain

The 4th generation Tucson will come in two RDE-compliant engine options in India. The petrol uses a Nu 2.0-litre engine matched to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This engine names 156 PS at 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm at 4,500 rpm. As for the diesel, it gets a new R 2.0-litre engine with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT). The diesel also gets an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It makes 186 PS of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 416 Nm of torque between 2,000 rpm and 2,750 rpm. The diesel version will also be available with Hyundai’s HTRAC AWD system.

2022 Hyundai Tucson – ADAS Features

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson will come with Hyundai’s SmartSense with Level 2 ADAS capabilities. It uses radar sensors, cameras and automated sensing technology to detect a car, cyclist or pedestrian on the road. In total, the SmartSense will come with 19 ADAS features. Some of these include – Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist for cars, pedestrians and cycles, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Driver Attention Warning and a lot more.
