Honda will be taking the wraps off the new Honda City e:HEV hybrid sedan tomorrow, the 14th of April 2022. However, leaked type-approval documents have revealed the specifications for the new Honda City e:HEV. Sources reveal that the Honda City e:HEV documents reveal that the car will come with the V and ZX trims. Also, unofficial bookings of the strong hybrid vehicle are being accepted at select dealerships. Apart from the V and ZX trims, Honda is also likely to offer the RS trim in the Indian market with add-on features.
The Honda City e:HEV is likely to come with V trim as standard and ZX as the top-spec model. A single image released on the official Honda India website also confirms that the brand will be offering the City e:HEV in the ZX trim. Sources also reveal that an R-spec model will be available with add-on features, but the brand is not likely to brand it with the ‘RS’ badge. The RS package may include:

This will also improve the safety quotient of the Honda City e:HEV hybrid vehicle. The safety systems and features are likely to be similar to the Thai-spec Honda City e:HEV.
The Honda City e:HEV will become the country’s first strong hybrid model to go on sale in the premium mid-size sedan segment. Powering the Honda City e:HEV is a 1,498cc Atkinson cycle i-VTEC DOHC motor with Honda i-MMD Sport Hybrid technology producing 98 PS of power. The engine is coupled to a 109PS electric motor, that is capable of propelling the sedan for short distances on electric-only power. Together the petrol-hybrid powertrain returns a fuel efficiency of 27.8 kmpl, according to the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle).
