Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda has taken the covers off its updated 2022 CB500X adventure touring motorcycle in international markets. With significant updates made to the adventurer-tourer, Honda will likely launch the motorcycle in India sometime during 2022. First launched in 2013, the CB500X showcases its crossover adventure style by embodying Honda’s fun-focused “light-middleweight” engine platform. Honda currently sells the 2021 version of the CB500X in India via its Big Wing & Big Wing TopLine dealerships.

2022 Honda CB500X: Design & Updates

The 2022 CB500X continues with its adventure-tourer styling with LED headlamps and a small beak. Additionally, the 2022 CB500X also retains the tall touring-style windscreen, boomerang-shaped side panels, ergonomic seat design, upright handlebars, and sharp tail. Along with compact LED turn indicators and clear-screen LED taillamps, the bike also gets a compact metal exhaust. The 2022 CB500X also continues to sport the 19-inch front alloy wheel and the 17-inch rear alloy wheel.

In terms of updates, the all-new 2022 CB500X features 41mm, inverted, Showa front forks with a cast aluminium front wheel. The bike also gets dual 296mm front brake discs with Nissin radial-mount four-piston callipers, replacing the previous 310mm single disc. Thanks to a new rear swingarm that improves ride comfort and handling, the bike now weighs 2.27 Kg lighter. Along with a larger front fender and re-worked weight bias, the CB500X also gets a new Pearl Organic Green colour.

2022 Honda CB500X: Powertrain & Rivals Details

Honda has retained the CB500X’s signature 471cc, parallel-twin cylinder, four-stroke DOHC engine with liquid-cooling and advanced fuel injection technology. This allows the motor to produce 47 PS of power and 43.2 Nm of torque via a 6-speed gearbox. The 2022 CB500X also gets an Assist/Slipper Clutch that grants smoother shifting during on-road or off-road riding.

Honda has also retained the CB500X’s LCD display screen that provides information related to Speed, Gear Position, and Engine Temperature. The bike also retains the 240mm rear brake disc that will prevent rear-wheel lock-ups during hard downshifts. Once launched in India, the 2022 CB500X will compete with rivals like the Kawasaki Versys 650 and Benelli TRK 502.
