BMW Motorrad India releases an official teaser of the upcoming 2022 G 310 R. We can only see the silhouette of the motorcycle in the released video. But, as the bike has already made its way into the international market, we have all the details. For starters, the motorcycle now has two different paint options, Cosmic Black and Kyanite Blue Metallic. The Polar White shade has been discontinued, and we expect the same to happen for India as well. The Cosmic Black colour wears a black finish for the chassis, wheels and body. As compared to Kyanite Blue, which has red wheels and frame. Apart from colours, there’s no mechanical update, and the motorcycle remains the same.
Mechanicals and Hardware
As mentioned, there’s no update in the mechanical department. The motorcycle continues with the 313-cc water-cooled single-cylinder motor. The performance output figure stands at 34 PS of peak power and 28 Nm of torque. The equipped gearbox is a 6-speed unit. BMW is using a closed-loop 3-way catalytic converter to be compliant with the BS6 emission norms. The top speed of the motorcycle is 143 kmph. The bike uses a tubular frame supported by USD front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. The braking setup consists of a 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
Price and Availability
As it stands, the motorcycle will most likely hit the Indian roads by September this year. The recent price hike for both the G 310 R and G 310 GS has made the motorcycle costlier by INR 10,000. The current iteration of the G 310 R now has a sticker price of INR 2.60 lakh (ex-showroom). And hence, we expect that the upcoming model will be priced a bit higher. There’s also the G 310 GS, the twin of the G 310 R, on sale. This motorcycle features an off-road biased setup. The G 310 GS retails at an ex-showroom price of INR 3.00 lakh.
