2022 Bajaj CT125X Review

The Bajaj CT125X is the latest entrant in the hotly-contested 125cc commuter segment. Bajaj has positioned this as a rugged bike to differentiate it from the competition. The CT125X is on sale at INR 71,354 and INR 74,554 (ex-Delhi) for the drum and disc versions, respectively. Here is the Bajaj CT125X Review:

The engine is the same motor which has been in use in the Bajaj Discover 125, and it is a 124.4cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine with 10.9 PS at 8,000 rpm and 11 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired with an all-down pattern 5-speed gearbox. Instead of a conventional fuel-injection system, the CT125X gets an Intelligent Carburetor. This is usually offered at a higher price point. The CT125X gets basic telescopic forks at the front and dual rear gas shocks. The rear wheel gets a drum brake, while the front gets a choice of disk or drum brake.

In terms of design, the CT 125X gets round halogen headlamp with LED DRLs which gives off an off-road vibe. It also gets a headlight guard, a rear luggage rack and engine protection. The seat gets a quilted design with a large grab rail a decent-sized luggage rack. For convenience, a USB charger has also been provided.

In terms of competition, the CT125X puts out the highest power and torque numbers. This should make it one of the better bikes in the segment. However, the kerb weight is the highest amongst the competition. The 100cc bikes come with a 4-speed gearbox and the 125cc ones get a 5-speed unit.

Bajaj is offering the CTX125X in three decal options – Green, Blue and Red decals. The base colour of the bike is black. The CT125X will take on the likes of the Honda Shine, Hero Splendor, Super Splendor, Hero Glamour and TVS Radeon. The CT125X joins the CT110X and will be the flagship offering by Bajaj in the segment.
