2021 Yamaha XSR125 motorcycle revealed, not for India

Yamaha has expanded its Sport Heritage line-up with the introduction of the new XSR125. The Yamaha XSR125 features high specification equipment and unique Faster Sons movement. The Yamaha XSR125 will be sold in the European market with prices starting GBP 4,450, which roughly translates to INR 4.60 lakh.

Yamaha XSR125 – Design & Styling

The Yamaha XSR125 features Yamaha’s Sport Heritage styling drawing inspiration from the XSR700 and XSR900. The XSR125 features rounded headlamps, a rounded taillamp, a boxy fuel tank, straight bench seats with pleated upholstery, short front and rear fenders, a small belly cowl and round instruments cluster.

But among the retro styling, Yamaha integrates modern pieces of equipment such as LED lighting on the headlamps and tail lamps and fully digital instrumentation. The XSR125 also comes with the latest ergonomic features and 17-inch alloy wheels shod in dual-sport tyres with a block pattern. This gives the XSR125 a pure and timeless design along with new-age features.

Yamaha XSR125 Technical Specifications

Powering the Yamaha XSR125 is a full Euro5 Compliant 124cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine. The engine features liquid cooling for better thermodynamics and SOHC valve distribution with electronic fuel injection. The powertrain produces 15 PS of power and 11.5 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with a wet-multi-plate clutch. The XSR125 also features Yamaha’s sophisticated Variable Valve Actuation system (VVA). The engine also conforms to the A1 category.

The Yamaha XSR125 features a delta box chassis that rides on a 37 mm upside-down telescopic fork on the front and a mono-shock on the rear. The XSR125 also comes with 267mm front disc brakes and 220mm disc brake on the rear with hydraulic callipers. The Yamaha XSR125 measures 1960mm in length, 800mm in width, 1065mm in height and 1330mm of wheelbase. The motorcycle comes with a seat height of 815mm and 160mm of ground clearance. The bike also gets 11 litres of fuel tank capacity and weighs 140 kgs at the kerb.

Colours

The Yamaha XSR125 is available in three colour options – Redline (RED), Impact Yellow and Tech Black. All three colours come with Yamaha body graphics on the tank and side panels.
