Yamaha has introduced the 2021 Tracer 9 and 9 GT in the international market which will be available from April 2021. The 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 and 9 GT come with the same CP3 series triple engine that was recently introduced on the Yamaha MT-09. The engine has been completely revamped with its displacement boosted and its torque available at an earlier range.

The 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 and 9 GT are powered by a Euro5-spec compliant 890cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder, four-valve-per-cylinder DOHC motor that produces 119 PS of power and 93 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed transmission. The engine employs the brand’s latest technologies which are responsible for improving efficiency by 9%. The feat has been achieved by employing new redesigned camshafts, crankshaft, crankcase, pistons and connecting rods. Also, the engine benefits from forged connecting rods, lightweight forged pistons, direct-plated ceramic-composite cylinder bores.

The 2021 Tracer 9 also adopts a newly developed lightweight aluminium frame with model-specific tuning and it is manufactured using the latest Controlled Filling (CF) aluminium die-casting technology. The 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 also features a rigid steel subframe that ensures straight-line stability and cornering ability. The new, longer swingarm that is now located inside of the frame, formed by welding together aluminium plates that conveys the driving force to the rider and ensures traction at high speed and while cornering.

The 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT features an electronically controlled suspension from KYB that is capable of providing optimum damping force, based on real-time running conditions, through the inputs it gets from the 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and the Hydraulic Unit (HU). Based on this input the Suspension Control Unit (SCU) then calculates the optimum settings for suspension damping. The suspension has two modes – Sport (A-1) and Comfort (A-2).

The 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 and 9 GT come with new aerodynamic styling with a sporty silhouette, twin split LED headlights, LED position lights, cornering light function, a large windscreen that can be adjusted across ten 5mm increments, knuckle guards, heated grips, twin 3.5-inch full-colour TFT displays, and cruise control system for easy riding.
