Yamaha has launched the all-new Aerox 155 maxi-scooter in the Indian market. The Aerox 155 comes with a YZF-R15 derived liquid-cooled engine and bold maxiscooter styling. The Yamaha Aerox is the brand’s first maxi-scooter in India and joins the elite league of maxi-scooters in the Indian market, including the Aprilia SXR 160 and Suzuki Burgman Street 125.

Yamaha Aerox 155 – Price and Colours

The Yamaha Aerox 155 comes in two colour options – Racing Blue and Vermillion Grey. The Aerox 155 comes with a price tag of INR 129,000 ex-showroom. In addition to this, Yamaha has also launched the Yamaha Monster MotoGP limited edition Aerox 155 with a price tag of INR 130,500 ex-showroom.

Yamaha Aerox 155 – Design Highlights

The Yamaha Aerox 155 comes with an ‘X’ Centre Motif, large proportions yet an athletic look. The maxiscooter features the “Heart-Shaking Speedster” design concept and comes with comfortable yet sporty ergonomics. The rider and pillion also get large and comfortable seats, sporty footboards as well as comfortable handlebars. The scooter also gets a 145mm high ground clearance that allows the scooter to glide over bad roads and speed bumps.

Yamaha Aerox 155 – Engine Specifications

Powering the Yamaha Aerox 155 is a single-cylinder liquid-cooled 155cc four-stroke engine. The engine comes with a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology and Integrated Starter Generator. The VVA technology allows the engine to maximise efficiency in a specific RPM range and maximise performance when needed. The Variable Valve Actuation technology is the segment-first feature on both the Aerox 155 and YZF-R15.

The Aerox 155 also uses ISG technology that enables silent and seamless starts, especially in stop-and-go traffic. The ISG does not require a separate starter motor and integrates the starter into the motor-generator unit. With ISG, the Aerox 155 also benefits from automatic start-and-stop technology, which will help reduce fuel consumption and improve efficiency. The engine develops 15 PS of power and 13.9 Nm of torque matched to a CVT automatic gearbox.

Yamaha Aerox – Mechanical Specifications

The Yamaha Aerox 155 comes with a telescopic front suspension and twin shock absorbers on the rear. The motorcycle rides on 14-inch large alloy wheels shod in tubeless wide rubber tyres with a 140 section rear tyre. The scooter also comes with a hydraulic front disc brake and a mechanical drum brake on the rear.

Yamaha Aerox 155 – Features

The Yamaha Aerox 155 comes with features such as sizeable under-seat storage. This 24.5 Litre under-seat storage area can accommodate an XL size full-face helmet. The scooter also gets a full LCD 5.8-inch instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. The Aerox 155 will also come with USB charging, LED headlamps, LED DRLs and LED taillamps.
