2021 Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace & T-Roc for India revealed

Under the SUVW strategy, Volkswagen plans to allocate another batch of the Tiguan Allspace and T-Roc SUVs for the Indian market. Volkswagen brings both the Tiguan Allspace and the Volkswagen T-Roc to the Indian soil via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route, under the 2,500 homologation-free rule. After making its debut in 2020 and despite the COVID-19 lockdown, Volkswagen India managed to sell all 1000 units allocated to the Indian market. The SUVs are now getting ready for round two in the 2021 avatar and we have a few pictures that reveal the exteriors of the Tiguan Allspace and T-Roc SUV.

The Tiguan Allspace Exteriors

The 2021 Tiguan Allspace (7-seater) SUV is likely to remain unchanged on the outside and the images reveal the same design & styling as the MY2020 car. The Tiguan Allspace comes with a chrome treatment on the radiator grille with a chunky VW logo, LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, foglights mounted on the lower part of the front bumper, chrome window lines, roof rails, body-coloured ORVMs with LED turn indicators, rounded wheel arches, 18-inch alloy wheels, a straight character line on the side the meet the rear, plastic side cladding, wraparound LED taillamps, etc. The car in the pictures is in the Habanero Orange Metallic shade, but the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace will be available in Pure White, Ruby Red Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, Petroleum Blue, Pyrite Silver and Platinum Grey Metallic.

Interior Features

The Tiguan Allspace comes with a seating arrangement for 7 occupants including the driver and features 3-zone climate control for comfort, Vienna leather seats, electric seat adjustment with power-adjustable lumbar support for the driver’s seat, a soft-touch dashboard, heat-insulating windshield, side and rear windows, electric parking brake, touchscreen infotainment with Mirrorlink, Android Auto & Apple Carplay and a plethora of safety features.

Tiguan Allspace Powertrain

Powering the Tiguan Allspace will be a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The Volkswagen T-Roc Exteriors

For 2021, the Volkswagen T-Roc SUV is likely to come with a new Ruby Red exterior paint as seen in the pictures below. The overall design and styling, however, remains the same. The car features polygonal LED daytime running lights on the bumper, dual-beam projector LED headlamps, LED wraparound tail lamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, straight lines on the sides typical of Volkswagen SUVs, a coupe-esque rear with sharply raked rear windscreen, wraparound taillamps, black finish roof, black ORVMs, chrome window garnish that runs over the window line, silver roof rails etc.

Interior Features

The Volkswagen T-Roc will feature 2-zone climate control, Vienna leather seats, heat insulation on the front, side and rear windscreens, automatic headlamp control, electric parking brake, rain sensors, split-folding rear seat backrest, height adjustable luggage compartment floor, Panoramic sunroof, 12V Outlet in front and rear, touchscreen infotainment system with AppConnect and a plethora of active and passive safety features. 

T-Roc Powertrain

Powering the 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc will be the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine with ACT (Active Cylinder Technology) that is capable of activating & deactivating 2 out of the 4 cylinders in just 13 to 36 milliseconds. The system can activate or deactivate the engine cylinder depending on the driving pattern and load requirements. This greatly improves the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicle and minimises carbon emission. The engine produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque and comes with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
