Toyota Kirloskar Motors has launched the new Innova Crysta facelift at the starting price of INR 16.26 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to INR 24.33 ex-showroom, India. The 2021 Innova Crysta is offered in three trims – GX, VX & ZX. The premium family MPV, for 2021 comes with a host of cosmetic upgrades on the outside, upgraded interiors and new equipment in the comfort and convenience department.
On the outside, the new Innova Crysta features a new trapezoidal radiator grille with piano black finish and chrome accents. The new grille also blends the headlamp units smoothly offering a sharper front fascia as compared to the outgoing model. The front bumper design has also been revised for 2021 and the fog lamp area, in particular, comes with new housing and much smaller and sharper than before. The new Innova Crysta also features a new dual-tone diamond-cut design on the alloy giving the MPV a stronger contemporary character.
On the inside, the dashboard layout is similar to the outgoing model but the central infotainment now comes with Connected features. For 2021, the Innova Crysta facelift features an all-new larger Smart Playcast touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from the smartphone connectivity features, Innova Crysta also gets sim-based connected features such as real-time vehicle tracking, geofencing, last parked location and many more as optional accessories. The top-of-the-line ZX grade also features the option of a new Camel Tan upholstery colour. The safety quotient of the family MPV has also been upgraded and the facelift model now gets front parking sensors with a MID display function and other best-in-class features such as seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control and Hill Start Assist.
In the engine department, Toyota recently upgraded the Innova Crysta to BS6 emission standards and the engines have been carried forward on the facelift. The 2021 Innova Crysta is powered by a BS6 compliant 2.7-litre four-cylinder Dual VVT petrol engine that makes 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission with the option of a 6-speed sequential-shift automatic gearbox. For diesel aficionados, the Innova Crysta is powered by an efficient oil burner with a turbocharged 2.4-litre displacement that pumps out 150 PS of power and 343 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox and 360 Nm of torque with the 6-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission.
The Toyota Innova claims unchallenged leadership in the MPV segment and the brand has sold more than 8,80,000 units since its inception, out of which the Innova Crysta (2nd Generation) has sold close to 3,00,000 units since its launch in 2016.
