2021 Tata Tigor EV sedan could get INR 2.3 lakh subsidy in Maharashtra

Recently, Tata introduced its new all-electric sedan, the Tata Tigor EV with Ziptron technology. The all-electric vehicle is one of the most affordable EVs in the Indian market. But now, reports suggest that the Tigor EV is set to become even cheaper. The government of Maharashtra is likely to offer the Tigor EV with an INR 2.30 lakh subsidy. This means that the on-road price of the Tata Tigor EV entry-level XE variant will be around INR 10.38 lakh on the road.

Tata Tigor EV Subsidy in Maharashtra

According to reports, the Tata Tigor EV will come with a basic incentive of INR 5,000 per kWh. The Tata Tigor EV comes with a 26 kWh battery. This means the Tigor EV will come with incentives of INR 1.30 lakh. Furthermore, the government of Maharashtra also provides an early bird incentive of INR 1 lakh which takes the total incentive to INR 2.30 lakh.

Tata Tigor EV Price In India

The Tata Tigor EV comes with a starting price tag of INR 11.99 lakh ex-showroom. The Tigor EV with the XM trim comes with a price tag of INR 12.49 lakh ex-showroom. The XZ+ trim in standard colour comes with a price tag of INR 12.99 lakh ex-showroom and XZ+ DT (DualTone) with a price tag of INR 13.14 lakh ex-showroom. The on-road price after the INR 2.30 lakh subsidy will be INR 10.38 lakh on-road for the XE variant, INR 10.90 lakh on-road for the XM variant, INR 11.42 lakh on-road for the XZ+ variant and INR 11.58 lakh on-road for the XZ+ DT variant.

Tata Tigor EV Powertrain

The Tata Tigor EV comes with a 55 kW output motor that is capable of producing 170 Nm of torque. The electric motor draws power from a 26 kWh liquid-cooled battery pack that claims a range of 306 km on a single charge. The battery pack comes with a globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and 15A wall socket slow charging. The Tigor EV takes approximately 8.5 hours to charge from 0% to 80% capacity.
