The MY2021 new Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure motorcycle has made its debut with prices starting INR 2.44 lakh On The Road Price, India. The new Royal Enfield Himalayan comes with added features, mild changes to the bodywork to improve ergonomics, three new colours but the mechanical components, underpinnings and the powertrain remain the same.
For 2021 Royal Enfield has added the new Tripper Navigation system to the instruments cluster enabling the rider traverse through unknown terrain with ease. The turn-by-turn navigation system made its debut with the Royal Enfield Meteor and features multiple features such as a clock, estimated time of arrival at the destination, distance to the next turn-out, total distance and remaining distance.
The MY2021 model also features a new front side rack that improves the ergonomics of the motorcycle by preventing taller riders from brushing their knees on the steel bars during trail riding, improving the overall safety quotient of the motorcycle. The new Himalayan also gets a new tail rack with improved features. The motorcycle also features a slightly wider and taller windscreen that fully encompasses the new instrument cluster and also offers more wind and weather protection to the rider.
The MY2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan is now available with three new colour options – Mirage Silver, Gravel Grey and Pine Green. The Mirage Silver option comes with a Silver body and Tan-brown lines running across the fuel tank. the seat upholstery is also done in Tan for the Mirage Silver option. The Pine Green option features a Green paint with jungle Camouflage graphics on the fender, tank, side panels and tailpiece. The Granite Black option is a mix of matte and gloss body finish. The existing choice of colours which include – Rock Red, Lake Blue and Gravel Grey.
Powering the MY2021 Himalayan is a BS6 emissions-compliant air-cooled 411cc single-cylinder SOHC engine that makes 24.6 Hp of power and 32 Nm of torque and comes with a 5-speed transmission. The same motor from the outgoing BS6 Himalayan. The Himalayan features a half-duplex split steel cradle chassis with 41mm conventional telescopic front fork suspension with a long 200mm of wheel travel and a link-type monoshock suspension in the rear offering 180mm of wheel travel. The ADV comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wire rims.
