Porsche has launched the facelifted Macan with some style changes and engine upgrades. A total of three variants will go on sale. Starting with the base brim Macan, then comes the Macan S and Macan GTS being the top-spec. The base trim will have a sticker price of INR 83.21 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the prices for the other two trims are not yet out. Macan will see itself fighting against the likes of Range Rover Velar, BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe for the Indian market.
Aesthetics and Overall Design Upgrades
Macan retains its iconic silhouette with some minor design upgrades. The most prominent one is the front grille with a body-coloured inlay. In the rear, onlookers will surely identify the revised diffuser. Other design highlights include new ‘Sport Design’ exterior mirrors, new LED headlights, and new larger wheels. Customers will have a choice of 14 different colours to choose from.
Furthermore, the inside of the SUV also gets significant changes. The Macan now no longer gets physical keys in the centre console. A touch-sensitive panel replaces them with illuminated haptic icons. This setup looks much cleaner and subtle.
Features and Equipment
Being a Porsche, one can expect all the gizmos in this SUV. The list includes a 10.9-inch touchscreen display that runs Porsche’s sixth-generation infotainment software platform, Apple CarPlay compatibility, Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Sport Chrono package and air suspension (GTS). Alongside this, customers can also opt for a host of personalisation options. Moreover, customers can now choose the seat stitching colour from a wide range of colour choices.
Mechanical Updates and Powertrain
The Macan comes with three engine options. First is the 265 PS 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo-petrol that is available with the Macan. Macan S gets the 380 PS 2.9L V6 motor with a single turbo. Meanwhile, for the Macan GTS, Porsche is using a 2.0-litre V6 that makes 440 PS of power. There’s a single gearbox option in the form of a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for all the engines.
