2021 motorcycle motorsports plans revealed by Honda

Honda has announced its plans to take part in the 2021 FIM motorcycle motorsports world championship racing series and in the Dakar Rally 2021. Honda is all geared up to clinch all the major titles under the leadership of Yoshishige Nomura, who heads the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). Basically, there are two types of teams; factory teams, these are directly controlled by the manufacturer and second is the satellite teams, where Honda provides the bike and the technical support.

In the upcoming season, Honda will aim to conquer all the categories in which it will be participating – road, motocross and trial championship. After its win in the 2020 Dakar Rally after 31 years of wait, Honda will look to win back to back championship and defend its crown. The confirmed riders for the Dakar Rally 2021 are Ricky Brabec, the defending champion and José Ignacio Cornejo. In the FIM Motocross World Championship series, Tim Gajse from Slovenia won the title for the third time and will look to start off the 2021 season on a high, along with his teammate Mitchell Evans from Australia and will ride the CRF450RW.

The FIM Superbike World Championship, one of the premier class production bike racing series, for this season, Honda will field Spanish rider Álvaro Bautista and Leon Haslam from the United Kingdom who will be riding the CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP bike. For the FIM Endurance World Championship Series (EWC), the F.C.C. TSR Honda France team has confirmed the team consisting of Josh Hook, Mike Di Meglio and Yuki Takahashi who is the current JRR ST1000 Champion.

For MotoGP, there are a total of 3 teams from Honda, led by its factory team Repsol Honda Team along with two satellite teams LCR Honda IDEMITSU and LCR Honda CASTROL, all three will ride the RC213V. In the AMA SuperCross World Championship 450SX class, Team Honda HRC will ride the CRF450R.

Honda has been a veteran participant in various racing events across the globe which inspire them to develop advanced technologies and then these tech-driven modern systems are brought in their production bikes as well.
