Mercedes-Benz has hiked the price of the newly launched 2nd gen-GLA. The SUV was launched on May 25, 2021. Within just two weeks since its launch, Mercedes-Benz has increased its price by up to 1.5 lakhs. The price hike is applicable across all the variants of the GLA. There are a total of 4 variants on offer, namely GLA 200, GLA 200d, GLA 220d 4Matic and AMG GLA 35 4Matic. Mercedes-Benz GLA will come to India via the CKD route.
2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA -Price Hike In Details
The entry level-trim, the GLA 200, has become dearer by INR 1.5 lakhs. The updated ex-showroom price of this trim is now INR 43.60 lakh. The second trim in the lineup is the GLA 200d which now costs about 1.5 lakhs more, retailing at INR 45.20 lakhs. The GLA 220d 4Matic price is up by around INR 1 lakh, and this trim now has a sticker price of INR 47.70 lakh. The performance spec AMG GLA 35 4Matic will now cost INR 58.78 lakh, up by INR 1.48 lakh compared to the launch price. All the prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA -Engine And Powertrain
Mercedes GLA gets a 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that belts out 163 HP of power and 250 Nm of torque. This petrol engine gets a 7G-DCT gearbox. The ones looking for a diesel motor will get in the form of an OM64q 2.0-litre four-pot transverse-mounted engine. This engine makes 190 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz is offering an 8G-Tronic gearbox with the diesel motor.
The AMG line GLA 35 4M houses a 2.0-litre in-line four-pot petrol engine. The performance figure for the motor rated at 306 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque makes it one of the most powerful cars in its segment. This engine can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in under 5.1 seconds with a top speed limited to 250 kmph. This AMG spec comes with a four-wheel-drive layout, making it reasonably competent in off-road conditions as well. The gearbox option for the AMG trim is an 8F-Tronic transmission.
