Maruti Suzuki will be launching the Swift hot hatchback soon in the Indian market, the brand has opened the ‘Register Interest’ tab on the official website confirming that the Swift facelift is coming to the Indian market. The Maruti Suzuki Swift in the new facelift avatar comes with subtle changes on the exterior, upgraded interiors and a new K12N powertrain that comes with both manual and automatic transmission options.
Exterior Updates
The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift features a new radiator grille which comes with a wing style chrome bar on the front and a new mesh design with chrome studs but the lower half of the front apron remains the same which includes a sweptback black applique that houses the rounded fog lights. While the partially revealed image does not show any changes to the headlamps the light signature could come with small changes and speculations are that the new Swift will also come with a new gloss black roof giving the car an option of a dual-tone paint. The new Swift is also likely to come with new design alloy wheels.
Interior Upgrades
On the inside, the Maruti Suzuki Swift features a new Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system that comes with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a new flat-bottomed steering wheel with controls, a cruise control system on select trims, automatic headlamps and a new rearview camera that send the feed to the infotainment screen when the driver engages the reverse gear.
Powertrain
Powering the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift is a new K12N 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated motor with dual jet technology that also powers the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and comes with automatic engine start/stop technology. The engine pumps out 89 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit. The new engine replaces the K12M engine and not much has changed on the new powertrain.
