2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio Review

Maruti Suzuki recently launched the all-new Celerio in the Indian market. The new Celerio comes with a refreshed design inside-out. The brand is also offering the new car with a more potent and efficient engine. Maruti Suzuki is also using the 5th generation HEARTECT platform on the new Celerio to enhance the safety of the occupants. The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will compete in the entry-level market and is also likely to come with a CNG fuel option in the future, becoming part of Maruti Suzuki’s Mission Green Million.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Price, Variants and Colours

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with a starting price of INR 4.99 lakh ex-showroom. The brand offers the Celerio in LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ variants. The VXi comes with a starting price of INR 5.63 lakh ex-showroom. The manual transmission ZXi comes with starting price tag of INR 5.94 lakh ex-showroom, while the ZXi+ starts at INR 6.44 lakh ex-showroom.

The AMT variants come with a price of INR 6.13 lakh ex-showroom for the VXi, INR 6.44 lakh ex-showroom for the ZXi and INR 6.94 lakh ex-showroom for the ZXi+. The entry-level LXi is available only in the Manual Transmission option with a price tag of INR 4.99 lakh ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Technical Specifications

In terms of size, the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio measures 3695mm in length, 1655mm in width and 1555mm in height. The Celerio comes with a wheelbase of 2435mm, offering spacious interiors in the segment. To put things into perspective, its close competitor, the Tata Tiago, offers 35mm of less wheelbase. Powering the Celerio is a new 1.0-litre K10C three-cylinder petrol engine.

The motor features the latest dual-jet technology and VVT valvetrain. The brand also offers an automatic start/stop system to improve the efficiency of the motor. The engine produces 65.7 Hp of power and 89 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The brand boasts a fuel efficiency of 26.68 km per litre on the Celerio, claiming the title of “India’s Most Fuel Efficient Petrol Car.”

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with a redesigned front fascia and a new rear with an evolutionary design. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio also comes with contemporary interiors and features. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with new sweptback headlamps, a new 3D organic sculpted design grille that mingles well with the headlamps. The car also comes with reprofiled bumpers and a rounded fog lamp on the front. The new Celerio gets electric ORVMs and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Interiors and Features

On the inside, Celerio gets a revamped dashboard and 55mm increased interior space compared to the predecessor. The brand also offers 40% more luggage space compared to the old car. The new Celerio also comes with a 7-inch central SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment screen with voice control and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also features a new analogue-digital instruments cluster and control mounted steering wheel.
