2021 Mahindra Thar will get a new white paint option

The all-new Mahindra Thar has taken the lifestyle SUV segment by a storm. The brand garnered an unprecedented amount of bookings leading to waiting periods of up to 9 months. The brand also confirmed to meet with the surge in demand the company will be ramping up the production capacity to 3,000 units a month from January 2021, which is more than 50% than the earlier planned capacity. 

Mahindra’s new bestseller is slated to get a new colour. A test mule of the all-new Thar in a shade of White has been spotted testing sans camouflage. According to sources, the new colour will be Diamond White and it is expected to be added to the current colour line-up in the next year. The new colour has been spotted close to the Mahindra Research Valley near Chennai. Currently, the all-new Thar is offered in Aquamarine, Mystic Copper, Rocky Beige, Red Rage, Galaxy Grey and Napoli Black colour options. 

In addition to the new Diamond White colour option, the brand is also likely to introduce Silver and Olive colour option in the near future. The test mule of the model in Silver was also spotted in the recent past. Apart from the new colour option, the Thar remains unchanged in both features as well as in the mechanical department. The Mahindra Thar is offered in a dual trim concept – AX Optional and LX. The prices on the AX Optional model starts INR 11.90 lakh ex-showroom and the range-topping LX trim starts at INR 12.49 lakh ex-showroom. 

The Mahindra Thar is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mHawk series engine that produces 130 Bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. The Thar is also available in an all-new 2.0-litre Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection (TGDi) mStallion series four-cylinder DOHC petrol engine that makes 150 Bhp of power and 320 Nm on the Automatic transmission version and 300 Nm of torque on the Manual transmission. Both engines are matched to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic options.
