2021 Mahindra Marazzo diesel AMT details leak before launch

After the debut of the new Mahindra XUV300 Petrol AutoSHIFT (AMT), the brand now plans to introduce the Mahindra Marazzo MPV with an AMT gearbox in the Indian market. A test mule of the Marazzo with the AutoSHIFT badge seen testing on public roads and now Type Approval documents have emerged on the internet confirming that the Marazzo will soon come with an Automated Manual option.

Variant Details & Powertrain

According to sources, the Mahindra Marazzo AMT which could come with the AutoSHIFT moniker will be available in the M2, M4+ and M6+ variants. The documents also suggest that the AMT model will be available in both the 7-seater and 8-seater cabin configurations. Powering the Marazzo is a BS6 emission-compliant 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 121 Bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The AMT option is also likely to be a 6-speed unit from expert Italian automotive component manufacturer – Marelli.

Exterior Design, Styling & Dimensions

In terms of dimensions, the Mahindra Marazzo measures 4585mm in length, 1866mm in width, 1774mm in height and features a 2760mm wheelbase. On the exteriors, the Mahindra Marazzo features a typical MPV silhouette and comes with styling details inspired by a Shark. Even the Marazzo moniker translates to Shark in the Spanish language. The Marazzo features a shark tooth-like radiator grille, muscular front and rear bumpers, flared wheel arches, machine-cut alloy wheels, a shark-fin styled rear tail lamp cluster.

Interiors Design & Safety

The Mahindra Marazzo AutoSHIFT is likely to retain the design details from the manual transmission version except for the transmission console. The MPV currently features a 7-inch centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment, analogue-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, control mounted steering wheel etc. In terms of safety, the MPV recently scored 4-Stars out of 5 at the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). As standard, the Marazzo features safety equipment such as front driver and passenger airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, seatbelt reminder, ABS and ISOFIX child seat anchorage points.
