Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Land Rover officially announces the details of the Indian-spec Discovery. The car is now listed on Land Rover India website. The SUV made its global debut in November 2020. This car comes in two trims, Discovery and Discovery R-Dynamic and three variants – S, SE and HSE. Land Rover updated both the exteriors and interiors extensively in this fifth-generation facelift model.

Changes In The Exteriors

The design language remains the same as the predecessor. The iconic clamshell bonnet, a stepped-up roof with prominent C-pillars give it a very similar silhouette as the outgoing model. But, in the new generation model, there are few new additions. First is the new matrix LED headlamps with signature LED daytime running lights. The bumper consists of new wider body coloured graphics, which includes new side vents. The R-Dynamic model features a unique design element with gloss black exterior accents giving it a very striking outlook.

What’re The Interiors Like?

The most highlighting feature is the new 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Land Rover updated the system with new tech, which is much more user-friendly. Facelifted Discovery also houses a 12.3-inch instrument cluster which helps with navigation. The alloys are also of a new 4-spoke design. Given the ongoing pandemic situation, automotive companies are equipping their vehicles with an in-car filtration system. Land Rover Discovery also supports a PM 2.5 air filtration technology. The other features include a heads-up display, wireless charging, 4-zone climate control and more.

Engine And Powertrain Options

In India, it is likely that Discovery will come with three engine options, one diesel and two petrol. The D300 variant will get a mild-hybrid powertrain with a 3.0-litre diesel engine making 296 BHP and 650 Nm. The 2.0-litre petrol engine belts out 296 BHP and 400 Nm. The other petrol engine is a mild-hybrid powertrain with a 3.0-litre petrol engine producing 355 BHP and 500 Nm. The safety list consists of 8 airbags and a 3D Surround Camera. To enhance the off-road capability Land Rover equipped with a host of new tech. This includes Terrain Response, Adaptive Dynamics, ClearSight Ground View and a 900mm dept water wading capacity and more.
