Kawasaki has launched the 2021 Model Year Versys 1000 in the Adventure Touring segment at the price of INR 11.19 lakh ex-showroom, India. The new Kawasaki Versys 1000 is now offered in only one colour option called the ‘Candy Lime Green’. The colour was also available on the MY2020 Versys 1000 in the Indian market which was priced at INR 10.99 lakh ex-showroom, India which means the 2021 model is a full INR 20,000 expensive than the outgoing motorcycle.

But, Team Green has not made any changes to the new motorcycle, in fact, the Adventure Tourer remains the same both mechanically and cosmetically. The previous model was also offered with another paint theme called ‘Pearl Dust White with Metallic Spark Black’ which has now been discontinued. The Candy Lime Green colour option comes with a Green nose, Green fuel tank, Green finished tail section and black parts that give the paint theme a contrast look.

In the engine department, the 2021 Kawasaki Versys 1000 retains the Ninja 1000 derived BS6 emission compliant liquid-cooled 1043cc in-line four-cylinder 4-stroke, 16-valve DOHC engine with fuel injection that produces 120 PS of power and 102 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed return type transmission with a wet multi-plate assist & slipper clutch.

For mechanical parts, the Versys 1000 comes with adjustable pre-load, rebound and damping on the 43 mm front upside-down forks that provide 150 mm of wheel travel, a rebound, damping and preload-adjustable horizontal back-link gas-charged monoshock with 152mm of wheel travel for comfortable rides on bad patches of road and even on trails.

The Versys 1000 features typical ADV styling and comes with a high front apron with a tall height adjustable visor that protects the rider from the weather elements,  a small beak, twin split LED headlamps, angular radiator shrouds, a large 21-litre fuel tank, step-up seats, ergonomically designed handlebars for uprights seating position, new cockpit styled instrumentation with an analogue tachometer and a digital LCD screen, large pillion grab rails and integrated tail box mount.
