Honda has revealed the 2021 Model Year CRF 1100L Africa Twin in the European market. For 2021 a new colour scheme dubbed Pearl Glare White Tricolour has been added to the existing paint themes – Grand Prix Red and Matte Ballistic Black. The new Pearl Glare White Tricolour paint theme was previously available only on the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports version. In 2020, Honda extensively updated the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin and in this 2021 update apart from the colour upgrade, no other changes are seen.

The full-sized adventure tourer was recently updated with a lighter steel semi-double cradle chassis for enhanced on and off-road performance backed by a Bosch MM7.10 six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that measures roll angle/rate, pitch angle/rate and yaw angle/rate in real-time and allows enhanced control over the motorcycle through features such as Cornering ABS, Wheelie Control and Rear Lift Control. The frame is not only rigid than the predecessor (CRF1000) but also 1.8 kgs lighter.

The new hard-edged chassis rides on 45mm Showa cartridge-type upside-down front fork setup with fully adjustable rebound and compression damping and revised internal settings to improve both on- and off-road offering 230mm of stroke length. The rear suspension setup features an adjustable 46mm cylinder and remote reservoir that comes with coil-spring preload, rebound and compression damping adjustment offering stable damping control under extreme off-road riding conditions and 220mm of wheel travel. The rear suspension is mounted to an aluminium swingarm 500g lighter than the previous model and comes with 600MPa high-strength steel pivot points improving rear wheel traction and feedback.

The Honda Africa Twin is powered by a 1084cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled 4-stroke 8-valve SOHC engine that produces 102 PS of power and 105 Nm of torque which claims to have 12% more peak power and 11% more torque as compared to the outgoing motor which is powered by a smaller 999cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that produces 95 PS of power and 99 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or an optional DCT (Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission).
