Ferrari has introduced the 2021 Roma 2+ Coupe in Mumbai, India. The grand touring car comes with a price tag of INR 3.76 crore ex-showroom, India. The new mid-front-engined 2+ coupe features a timeless design, a high-performance engine and sharp handling dynamics. According to the Italian brand, the Ferrari Roma is a contemporary representation of the pleasurable life in Rome in the 1950s and ’60s.

Ferrari Roma – Design Highlights

The Ferrari Roma draws the design inspiration from the grand touring Ferraris of the 1960s, which came with a front-engined 2+ fastback coupe design. The Roma takes this design language to a new level and comes with refined styling, which hides the prancing horses’ power and sportiness. The Ferrari Roma features a grater-style grille on the front with a shark nose appearance. This makes Roma’s front appear to have been chiselled from a single block of metal. But the new concept also carefully blends in Ferrari’s traditional styling cues.

The Roma also features linear full LED headlamps giving a unique look to the front of the car. The headlamp units also integrate a horizontal LED DRL that accentuates the design of the Roma. The vehicle’s rear features a fastback style windscreen incorporating a new mobile spoiler and the Ferrari motif. Ferrari reveals that new technological developments have led to iconic and minimalist twin taillights that appear like gems. The tail section also gets a compact, aerodynamic diffuser and quad exhausts.

Ferrari Roma – Interiors & Features

The Ferrari Roma features a twin cockpit design concept. The car features a contemporary multilayered dashboard with a bridge-type central console. The central console features an 8.4-inch vertically-oriented touchscreen display which claims to be intuitive and user-friendly. The brand has also incorporated the climate control system within the touchscreen infotainment. The driver gets a full-digital instruments cluster with an anti-glare binnacle the extends out from the dashboard.

The car also gets a new steering wheel that features Ferrari’s latest-generation HMI (Human Machine Interface). This helps the driver keep the eyes on the road and hands on the steering wheel as all the major commands can be actioned using haptic controls. To enhance the passenger experience, the Roma also comes with an 8.8-inch full-colour touchscreen that displays the car’s performance. The passenger can also view satnav information, manage air conditioning functions and select music.

Ferrari Roma – Engine Specifications

Powering the Ferrari Roma is a mid-front set, 3.9-litre (3,855cc) petrol, 90-degree V8 engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger. The V8 Turbo family engine comes with new cam profiles, a turbine speed sensor, and a gasoline particulate filter. This helps Ferrari comply with the strictest anti-pollution standards. The engine also features Zero Turbo Lag and Variable Boost Management.

The Ferrari Roma comes with an 8-speed gearbox with a dual-clutch in oil-bath architecture. The new clutch module boasts of being 20% smaller but delivers 35% more torque. The powertrain produces 620 Hp of power and 760 Nm of torque, giving it the best weight/power ratio of 2.37kg/Hp, in its segment. This allows the Roma to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 kmph.
