2020 Tata Nexon Facelift Review

At the beginning of 2020, Tata launched the facelift model of its popular compact SUV the Tata Nexon. The Tata Nexon SUV is priced starting INR 7 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to INR 12.70 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The Tata Nexon is offered in 36 trim options giving the buyer the most extensive choices by making the SUV available with the highest number of options available on any car today in the Indian market. 

The Tata Nexon is powered by two engine options both upgraded to match the latest BS6 emission conformity. The first is a Revotron 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission and an option of a 6-speed AMT gearbox. For diesel aficionados, the brand also offers a Revotorq 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 110 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque available in a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed AMT automated manual transmission. 

The Tata Nexon features a gloss black radiator grille with chrome trim, dual-barrel headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, LED combination tail lamps with a new light signature, Tri-Arrow design on the lower grille, a coupe-inspired roofline, roof rails shark fin antenna, muscular wheel arches, geometric front and rear bumper design, dual-tone alloy wheels etc. The Nexon also features interior equipment such as digital instruments console, a large central infotainment system with connected car safety features, voice navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, climate control air-conditioning, cooled glovebox and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System among others. 

The Tata Nexon is also the country’s first home-grown compact SUV to have received 5-Stars for safety by Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) back in 2018. The new compact SUV set new benchmarks in the Indian auto industry. According to the published reports the Tata Nexon received 16.06 points out of 17 points, scoring a full 5 stars for adult safety and 25 points out of 49 points for child safety, receiving 3-stars for child safety.
