The 2020 Skoda Octavia sedan will make a debut in full glory on November 11th, 2019. However, to create some buzz, the brand has revealed official renderings of the sedan version which will also come to India sometime in 2020. The Skoda Octavia sedan rivals the likes of Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra & Toyota Corolla Altis in India. The Octavia we have on sale right now in India is the 3rd generation of the series and we only get a sedan variant while Skoda does offer an estate / station wagon overseas.
The 4th generation Skoda Octavia will also arrive to India only in a sedan guise. The design renders reveal that Skoda will stick to its sharp crease lines with a timeless silhouette rather than going all curvy with the body profile. Renderings reveal full chrome surround for the DLO, around the windows, snazzy alloy wheels (probably 17″ for India), full LED headlights, full LED tail lights with crystal cut elements, SKODA lettering on the tail gate instead of the logo, chrome accents on the front bumper, butterfly design front grille with chrome accents, reflector strips, bold shoulder line, blacked out B-pillar, etc.
Inside, we expect that the 2020 Skoda Octavia will get an all-new steering wheel with all controls integrated, full digital speedo console, new digital infotainment system, premium audio system, leather upholstery, ventilated seats, electric front seat adjustment, multiple storage spots, wireless charging, and more. Just like all previous Skoda Octavia versions, the 4th generation model will also have a humongous boot compared to rivals.
Skoda is said to be working on a plug-in hybrid model of the Octavia for the international markets. In India, we currently have the 1.8L TSI petrol and 2.0L TDI diesel engine options on offer, both with DSG gearbox options.
When in India, obviously the 2020 Skoda Octavia will ask for more money, but it will offer more features as well. More details to follow soon…
