2020 Nissan Magnite Compact-SUV for India makes global debut (Photo Gallery)

In a Global World Premiere, Nissan has revealed the much-awaited Magnite B-SUV. The All-New Magnite SUV is a Made for India and is expected to go on sale in the Indian market soon. At the global unveil Nissan unveiled the exteriors and the interiors of the Magnite but the brand is still tight-lipped about its technical specifications. 

On the outside, the Nissan Magnite highlights sharp and angular features complemented with a bold radiator grille accented with chrome surrounds, a trough style mesh and a new Nissan logo that sits in the centre of the imposing grille. The front apron is quite upright with a flat and minimalist surface but comes with L-shaped LED daytime running lights the flank the sides of the bumper. The fog lamps are placed lower on the bumper with a silver skid plate and a sharp splitter like lower air dam. The Nissan Magnite comes with dual projector LED headlamps, a muscular bonnet, bold wheel arches, dual-tone diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels, integrated bodyside mouldings, chrome finished DLO, carefully crafted door seals to lower the NVH levels, 50kg capacity functional roof rails, 205mm of ground clearance, rear skid plate finished in silver and combination tail lamps on the rear that reverberates with the front. 

On the inside, the Nissan Magnite features a layered dashboard with a split top section that houses hexagonal air-con vents, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration, first-in-class AVM (Around View Mirror), Driver oriented dash with a 5-degree tilt of the centre stack, an angular hood for the instruments cluster, a first-in-class 7-inch full TFT colour instruments cluster with TPMS function, a first-in-class welcome animation on the instrumentation, fully integrated steering wheel controls with audio and cruise control functions, a high commanding seating position for best-in-class visibility and opening angle, best-in-class knee room for rear row occupants, the best-in-class shoulder room for the front row, contoured seats with contrast stitching and comfortable bolstering along with generous thigh support. The Magnite also comes with a tall floor console with a dedicated smartphone tray on the Tech Pack which will also include an air purifier puddle lamps and ambient lighting. 

In terms of safety, the Nissan Magnite will feature dual airbags, ABS with EBD, an anti-roll bar to mitigate body roll during high-speed cornering, traction control, hill assist control and VDC Vehicle Dynamics Control for manoeuvring the vehicle out of risk situations. 

The Nissan Magnite is underpinned by the Renault Nissan CMF-A+ platform that is shared with the Renault Triber MPV. In the engine department, the Nissan Magnite is expected to be powered by an HRAO 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with microbore coating from the Nissan GT-R for reduced friction and improved efficiency. The engine will be coupled to an X-Tronic CVT automatic option.
