MG Motor India has launched the much-anticipated premium SUV the MG Gloster in the Indian market at the starting price of INR 28.98 lakh ex-showroom, India. The MG Gloster SUV has been launched in four trims – Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy along with two engine variants – 2.0-litre Turbocharged Diesel and 2.0-litre TwinTurbocharged Diesel. The MG Gloster SUV is powered by a BS6 emission-compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 163 PS of power and 375 Nm of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a with a 4X2 driveline. This engine powers the Super and Smart trims. Secondly, a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder Twin-Turbocharged diesel mill with a 4X4 driveline that makes 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission unit power the Sharp and the top-of-the-line Savvy variants. The MG Gloster SUV measures 4985mm in length, 1926mm in width, 1867mm in height along with 2950mm of wheelbase.
The large proportions of the SUV allow superior headroom and legroom along with Premium leather layering and soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels as standard. Standard features also include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display with USB, FM and other connectivity features. On the exterior standard features include a chrome radiator grille, LED headlamps with auto levelling, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, chrome exterior door handles decorative fender, ORVM garnish, double-barrel twin chrome exhausts, front and rear mud flaps, and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The MG Gloster also comes with standard safety equipment such as dual front, side, & full-length curtain airbags along with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System, Roll Movement Intervention, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, and Rear Disc Brakes. In addition to this, the fully-loaded Savvy trim offers Level 1 Autonomous features which are also known as Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Parking Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Critical Tyre Pressure Voice Alert.
The MG Gloster also comes with highlights such as 3-zone climate control, PM 2.5 filter, 12-way power adjustment seat, powered tailgate with kick gesture operation and i-Smart 2.0 integration and 70 connected features integrated with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The Savvy trim also includes features such as Apple Watch Connectivity, 3D maps from MapMyIndia, Anti-Theft Immobilization personalised greetings and Shortpedia App for short news.
MG Motor India has also announced custom aftersales packages for Gloster flagship SUV that comes with a 3+3+3 package i.e a warranty of three years/100,000 kilometres, three years roadside assistance and three labour-free periodic services. The package can be further customized with more than 200 combinations in Maintenance, Warranty, Road-Side Assistance (RSA), Residual Value Assurance, Accessories and Merchandise etc. MG Motor India is also offering INR 50,000 for customers to customize their ownership preferences.
