The Kia Seltos has been an instant hit in the Indian car market. This SUV single-handedly gave the brand enough recognition to put many other established car manufacturers behind in the sales race in the Indian market. To keep up with the competition, Kia has now refreshed the Seltos SUV for 2020 with new features. This is not a facelift, but a comprehensive model year update to rival competition which includes the all-new Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks which also got a refresh. Prices for the 2020 Kia Seltos start from INR 9.89 lakh ex-showroom. The Seltos will continue to be retailed in Tech Line and GT Line options.
For 2020, the Kia Seltos comes with an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) as standard on all variants. The ESS system starts rapid blinking if a sudden brake force is applied at speeds over 55 kmph. The Smart-Key with Remote Engine Start is also now standard on all automatic variants of the Seltos. Other new features spread across the variant list includes new dual tone paint scheme with orange or white roof, dual tone option on sunroof, automatic climate control panel with silver accents, voice assist wake up command ‘Hello Kia’, smart watch app connectivity, UVO Lite to control air purifier, voice assist for Indian holiday information and also for cricket score.
Kia has also taken this opportunity to trickle down some features from the top trims to lower models. Features such as dual exhaust muffler design, printed dashboard garnish, USB charger on front tray, leatherette interior upholstery, metal scuff plate, rear USB charger, sunroof with LED room lamps, leatherette gear knob, etc. are not available on many variants of the 2020 Seltos.
The Smartstream 1.5L petrol motor of the Kia Seltos produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. The 1.5L CRDi VGT motor produces 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The turbocharged 1.4L Smartstream T-GDi motor produces 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of torque. Kia offers an automatic gearbox option on all of these engines in India.
