Hyundai first revealed the 2020 new Tucson at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. Recently, the brand launched the Hyundai Tucson in the Indian market with a starting price of INR 22.30 lakh ex-showroom, India. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson is offered in five trims spread across – a 2.0-litre Petrol Automatic and 2.0-litre Diesel Automatic powertrain options. The brand does not offer a Manual Transmission on the Tucson but the top-of-the-line model is available with 4-Wheel Driveline.
The Hyundai Tucson is powered by a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 152 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed torque converter type automatic gearbox. In the diesel avatar, the Hyundai Tucson comes with a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre engine that makes 185 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed torque converter type automatic gearbox. The top-spec diesel model also features an HTRAC AWD system for off-roading capabilities.
The 2020 Hyundai Tucson also features a chrome-accented cascading front grille, Penta-Projector LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, L shaped LED lights on the fog lamps accentuating the housings, silver skid plates, a muscular bonnet, flared wheel arches, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and a twin-tipped exhaust. On the inside, the Hyundai Tucson features a centrally mounted 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Hyundai BlueLink technology with voice recognition, power-adjustable front seats, reclining rear seats and a panoramic sunroof.
The 2020 Hyundai Tucson also features a plethora of active and passive safety features that include a 70% High Strength Steel (AHSS + HSS) body, 6 airbags, side curtain airbag, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control, Downhill Brake Control, Brake Assist, front and rear parking sensors etc.
