2020 Hyundai i20 variant & engine details for India leaked

The much-anticipated next-generation Hyundai i20 has been unveiled inside out, internationally. The hot hatchback is expected to enter the Indian market by the end of this month and ahead of its launch, variant details of the next-generation Hyundai i20 have been leaked on the internet. The Hyundai i20 is likely to come in four variants – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). 

In the engine department, the next-generation Hyundai i20 is likely to be offered with three engine options. A 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that makes that produces 84 PS of power and 118 Nm of torque matched to a manual gearbox and an IVT automatic transmission option, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (TGDi) three-cylinder engine that makes 100 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque matched to an iMT gearbox or a 7-speed DCT gearbox and a third 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine option matched to a manual transmission option. 

On the outside, the all-new Hyundai i20 features a large radiator grille with mesh, edgy and sharp LED headlamps with integrated reverse tick mark LED daytime running lights, a geometric front apron, chiselled bonnet lines, flared wheel arches, z-shaped wraparound taillights, 16/17 inch alloy wheels and a  dual-tone paint theme etc. On the inside, the new i20 features twin-screen display console with a 10.25-inch colour display for the instrumentation and a 10.25-inch central floating touchscreen infotainment system integrated with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration, latest Bluelink telematics, built-in navigation, Bose sound system, wireless smartphone charging, cruise control etc. 

It is also likely to offer advanced safety features such as Lane Following Assist (LFA), Rear Cross-traffic Collision Assist (RCCA), Blind-spot Collision-avoidance Assist (BCA), Parking Assist (PA), Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Reverse (PCA-R) and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LDVA), how much of these will come to the Indian market remains to be seen. 

The next-generation Hyundai i20 is expected to be launched in India on 28th October 2020.
