2020 Hyundai i20 bookings open in India, manufacturing process explained

Hyundai has opened bookings for the all-new i20 in the Indian market at INR 21,000 from the early hours of 28th October 2020 from the Hyundai Click to Buy online sales channel as well as the authorized Hyundai dealerships. The brand has also announced that the all-new i20 will be launched on 5th November 2020. The Hyundai i20 will be offered in four trims – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O) available across petrol, diesel and turbo petrol options along with four transmission options that include a First-in-Segment Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and Manual Transmissions. 

The new Hyundai i20 will be available with six monotone shades – Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Metallic Copper and two dual-tone options – Polar White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof. The Hyundai i20 is also offered with benefits such as 10% cashback on the booking transactions made on Hyundai Click to Buy using ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank Credit or Debit cards subject to final financing from the bank. 

Hyundai is gearing up to launch the all-new i20 hot hatchback in the Indian market. The brand has now showcased the manufacturing process of the Hyundai i20 at the company’s Chennai production plant through the use of Industry 4.0 and Automation applications and the brand’s 24-year old rich manufacturing history of ‘Make in India.’ 

Hyundai applies a Robust Superstructure that comes with 66% Advanced  High Strength Steel frame that enhances the crashworthiness while making the car light. Furthermore, the superstructure is created using 5,400-ton stamping at the press shop. The process also incorporates an Online Condition Monitoring to monitor machine vibration and changes in the metal surfaces. The i20 also uses High quality grade coils for sculpting and 3D scanning technology to analyse and strengthen parts.
