2020 Hyundai i20 bags 30,000 bookings, 85% buyers want top variants

Hyundai has announced that the brand has garnered more than 30,000 bookings on the all-new Hyundai i20 in just 40 days of its market launch. The brand has also revealed that 85% of the bookings attribute to feature loaded higher trims. Furthermore, the brand has also announced that the all-new i20 with the new Fiery Red & Starry Night dual-tone colour option has emerged as a popular shade and nearly 10% of customers have chosen the i20 in the dual-tone shade. 

On its higher-spec trims, the Hyundai i20 is offered with 6-Airbags, ESC with VSM & Hill Assist Control along with all the industry-standard safety features, a 26.03-cm high-definition touchscreen infotainment system integrated with a navigation system, Hyundai Bluelink with Over the Air (OTA) Map Updates, smartphone connectivity options, Wireless Charger with Cooling Pad, Oxyboost Air Purifier with Air Quality Indicator, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System etc. 

In addition to the safety systems from the brand, Hyundai also recently revealed that the i20 is underpinned by the new ‘K’ platform features Enhanced Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) offering 13% improved tensile strength as well as improved driving dynamics, agility and comfort. The K platform is also engineered to channel crash energy flow around the passenger cell adding to the safety quotient of the vehicle. 

The new Hyundai i20 is offered with a 1.2-litre Kappa series Naturally-Aspirated Petrol engine, a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine and a 1.0-litre Turbo-Petrol engine. The car also features a plethora of gearbox options such as a 5-speed manual and an IVT (CVT) automatic on the 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 6-speed manual on the diesel and a 7-speed DCT automatic along with an iMT clutch-pedal-less Intelligent Manual Transmission on the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. 

The all-new Hyundai i20 is offered in four variants – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O) and is priced starting at INR 6.80 ex-showroom, Delhi and goes up to INR 11.34 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi for the top-of-the-line 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 7-speed DCT transmission option and dual-tone paint theme.
