2020 Hyundai Creta to be launched in 14 variants, same engines like Kia Seltos

Hyundai at the Auto Expo 2020 introduced the all-new Creta to the Indian market. The second-generation Creta was first showcased at the Shanghai Motor Show in 2019 and its predecessor, the current-gen Creta was launched in India in 2015. Now according to a media report, the new Creta is likely to be launched with 14 variant options along with 9 colour options.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta is likely to share its powertrain with the Kia Seltos. The Kia Seltos in India is powered by 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine options with four transmission options – 6-speed manual transmission, 6-speed automatic transmission, an IVT (intelligent Continuously Variable Transmission and a 7-speed Dual Clutch Automatic (DCT) transmission. It is important to note that the complete Kia Seltos engine line-up is BS6 emission compliant from the day it was launched.

The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine (SmartStream G1.5) makes 115 ps of power and 144 Nm of torque while the 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel produces 115 ps of power and 250 Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre Turbo-Gasoline Direct injection (TGDi) turbocharged petrol motor is capable of making 140 ps of power and 242 Nm of torque. 

The combination of the three powertrains and their transmissions is likely to result in 14 variants explained in the table below:-

The new 2020 Hyundai Creta features a refreshed design on the outside as well as its interiors. The Creta features an imposing SUV stance with a cascading grille with a chrome treatment, separated boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL), LED headlamps and fog lamps on the front. Muscular wheel arches with 17-inch alloy wheels to its side and LED taillights along with a tailgate-mounted ‘CRETA’ moniker on the rear. 

The newly refreshed interiors come with a dual-tone layered dashboard, vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system with Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity features, cockpit-like digital driver’s display, steering mounted controls, a panoramic sunroof, etc.

It is also being reported that the new Creta will come in 7 single tone colours – White, Black, Grey, Silver, Blue, Red and Orange and 2 dual-tone colours – Orange with Black Roof and White With Black Roof

The 2020 Hyundai Creta is expected to be priced in the INR 10 lakh to 17 lakh range.
