2020 Hyundai Creta bags 10,000 bookings in 1 week, engine & gearbox variants revealed

Bookings have opened for INR 25,000 for the all-new 2020 Hyundai Creta. Now, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has revealed that they have bagged more than 10,000 bookings for the new Creta in just 1 week since announcement. The Creta has been a benchmark SUV in the Indian market and the new model will have its official debut later this month. Hyundai has also increased production capacity for the new Creta sighting high demand during the launch phase. This will allow Hyundai to retain customers and deliver cars quicker.

Hyundai has also officially revealed the engine and gearbox combinations for the 2020 Creta SUV. The 1.5L, naturally aspirated MPI petrol motor will produce 115 PS of power @ 6300 RPM and 14.7 kgm of torque @ 4500 RPM matched to either a 6-speed manual or IVT (CVT) gearbox. The 1.5L, U2 CRDi diesel engine will produce 115 PS of power @ 4000 RPM and 25.5 kgm of torque between 1500 – 2750 RPM matched to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.4L, Kappa turbo GDi petrol motor will produce 140 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 24.7 kgm of torque between 1500 – 3200 RPM matched to only a 7-speed DCT dual clutch automatic gearbox. All engines are BS6 compliant, however the mileage numbers have not been revealed yet.

The new Hyundai Crea will come with features such as leatherette seat upholstery, 2-step reclining rear seats for added comfort, new stylish D-cut steering wheel which will also be leather wrapped, blue coloured ambient lights, 26.03cm HD infotainment screen with connected BlueLink technology, 17.78cm full digital speedometer cluster which will be a colour display, 2 tone black & greige interior colour scheme, dark theme interiors in black with red accents expected on the turbo-petrol variants, wireless charging, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, electric park brake, etc.

The Creta made Hyundai an aspirational brand, and also resulted in their average car selling price going up. The new 2020 Hyundai Creta is expected to attract more buyers, as per Hyundai, but the Kia Seltos is still selling strong along with other competition in this price range which includes the Nissan Kicks, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
