Honda’s premium hatchback in India, and a car which is loved worldwide is set to be revealed in a new-generation avatar next week. Honda has released a teaser video of the all-new Jazz / Fit hatchback which will mostly reach Indian showrooms sometime in 2020-21. The Honda Jazz / Fit will remain a spacious hatchback, but this time, the new model will come with plenty of tech under the hood apart from a new body shell.

So far in terms of design, we know the following looking at the spyshots. The 2020 Honda Jazz / Fit will get LED DRLs in the headlamp, a squarish projector headlamp with chrome accents, new front grille, new front fog lamps, new front grille, larger air dam at the bottom, similar looking side profile with the iconic front & rear quarter glass, larger roof rails, new alloy wheels, new LED tail lamps, new reflector strips on rear bumper, new sharkfin antenna and new ORVM design.

Inside, we expect an all-new layered dashboard, silver & gloss black applique, touchscreen infotainment, full digital speedometer console, magic seats, climate control, rear AC vents, leather upholstery for top trims, etc. The new 2020 Honda Jazz is expected to be wider, allowing for even more space for passengers which has always been the strength of this car.

Honda is said to be working on a new hybrid powertrain for the 2020 Jazz / Fit. We don’t know yet if Honda will be introducing a 1.2L or 1.5L hybrid petrol powertrain on the 2020 Jazz, and if at all it would come to India. Currently, in our market we have the 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. The 2020 Honda Jazz will be sharing platform and drivetrain with the new City, so we expect it to be sold in India with the same engine options. However, it is the Honda City which has already started testing on Indian soil hinting that the new Jazz is not coming to Indian showrooms before the City.

Expect Honda to reveal the 2020 Honda Jazz / Fit in concept or import form (LHD) at the upcoming Auto Expo.
