2020 Honda Hornet 2.0 streetfighter with 17 HP launched at INR 1.26 lakh

Honda has launched a sub-200cc segment sporty streetfighter, the Honda Hornet 2.0 at the price of INR 1.26 lakh ex-showroom, Gurugram. The Honda Hornet 2.0 has been targeted towards the young Generation-Z audience as well as the commuter segment, offering a sporty, stylish, powerful yet practical motorcycle that competes with the Hero Motocorp Xtreme 200R, TVS Apache 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in the Indian market. 

In terms of styling, the Honda Hornet 2.0 features a new stacked LED headlamp with an integrated position lamp, LEd turn indicators, X-shaped LED tail lamp, an aerodynamic front end design, a pod styled Fully Digital Negative Liquid Crystal Display instruments cluster with advanced information like Gear Position Indicator, Service Due Indicator, Battery Voltmeter and comes with 5-step adjustable brightness, step-up split seats, clip-on style handlebars with an aggressive forward-leaning design, a brawny fuel tank, new aesthetics with Key on Tank feature, hazard light switch, etc.

The Honda Hornet 2.0 also features short muffler, alloy footpegs and sporty new alloy wheels which are shod in wide tubeless tyres, 110mm on the front and 140mm on the rear. The Hornet 2.0 is underpinned by a diamond frame and features premium mechanical hallmarks such as upside-down front fork suspension finished in Gold, an adjustable rear monoshock, 276mm front and 220mm rear petal disc brakes on both the front and rear wheel equipped with single-channel ABS technology for safety. The Honda Hornet comes with a 12-litre fuel tank capacity and tips the scale at 142 kg at the kerb. 

The Honda Hornet 2.0 is powered by a BS6 emissions-compliant 184.4cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with PGM-Fi (fuel-Injection) system and 8 onboard sensors that produce 17 Hp of power and 16.1 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. 

The Honda Hornet 2.0 is expected to arrive at Honda dealerships from the first week of September and will be offered in four colour options – Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic and Matte Marvel Blue Metallic. 

Honda also offers the Hornet 2.0 with an industry-first special 6-year warranty package (3 years standard + 3 years optional extended warranty).
