2020 Honda Hornet 2.0 Review

Near the end of August 2020, Honda launched the Hornet 2.0, an all-new motorcycle in the Indian market targeted towards the young Generation Z commuters and to traverse across the urban jungle with style. Here is a comprehensive review of the Honda Hornet 2.0, a sporty, powerful, stylish yet practical motorcycle.

The Hornet 2.0 is powered by a BS6 emission-compliant 184.4cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with 8 onboard sensors and programmed fuel injection technology that produces 17 Hp of power and 16.1 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The Hornet 2.0 is underpinned by a diamond frame with Gold finished upside-down front fork suspension and a preload-adjustable monoshock on the rear. Stopping power comes from a single 276mm hydraulically operated petal disc on the front and 220mm rear petal disc brakes equipped with single-channel ABS technology for safety. 

The Honda Hornet 2.0 features a geometric overall design with a sharp stacked LED headlamp, LED turn indicators and X-shaped LED tail lamps. The Hornet 2.0 features a chiselled tank design with angular tank shrouds, key on tank feature, step-up seats, a sharp tail section, a sleek belly cowl and a Fully Digital Negative Liquid Crystal Display instruments cluster with a Gear Position Indicator, Battery Voltmeter, Service Due Indicator and 5-step adjustable brightness etc. 

The new Honda Hornet 2.0 is available in four colour options – Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic and Matte Marvel Blue Metallic. Furthermore, the brand also launched the Honda Hornet 2.0 in the ‘Repsol Honda’ limited edition that features a Repsol Honda racing team-inspired graphics & design theme the reverberates with the Honda Repsol MotoGP bike ‘RC213V’.

The Honda Hornet 2.0 is priced at INR 1.26 lakh ex-showroom, Gurugram and competes with the likes of the Hero Motocorp Xtreme 200R, TVS Apache 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in the Indian market. In its Repsol Honda avatar, the Hornet 2.0 is priced at INR 1,28,351 ex-showroom, Gurgaon.
