2020 Honda CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade & Fireblade SP bookings open in India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has commenced pre-launch bookings for the 2020 model Honda CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP in the Indian market. Both the Honda CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP will come to our country via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route and the CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade will be available in two colour options – Grand Prix Red & Matte Pearl Morion Black and the CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade SP is available in a single shade  – Grand Prix Red. 

The Honda CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP both draw their inspiration from the RC213V-S MotoGP machine and both the engine and chassis technology along with the aerodynamic of the motorcycle benefit from the brand’s experience in the coveted MotoGP racing and both the standard and the SP version have been designed from the grounds up keeping the emphasis for track performance. 

The 2020 Honda CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade and the Fireblade SP is powered by a 999.9cc in-line, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine with PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) and oil sprayed over the pistons for cooling. The engine has the same bore and stroke of 81mm x 48.5mm as the MotoGP RC213V-S, a semi-cam gear train, titanium connecting rods which are 50% lighter than a steel rod, finger-follower rocker arms, new technology the reduces friction, forged aluminium pistons that are 5% lighter. The litre-class engine develops (160kW) 214.5 Hp of power @ 14500 RPM and 113 Nm of torque @ 12500 RPM paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper assist clutch. 

The Honda CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP feature a bubble-style visor, split type sleek LED headlights, a central ram-air-intake, aero winglets on the side fairing that produce effective downforce at track speeds, chiselled fuel tank, a sharp high set tail, turn indicator integrated wing mirrors, a side slung exhaust, clip-on style handlebars and a stronger but light-weight aluminium chassis with 2mm wall thickness. 

The 2020 Honda CBR1000 RR-R also features highlights such as Throttle-By-Wire (TBW) with selectable riding modes, 9 levels adjustable Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Slip Rate Control, adjustable Start Mode, 3-level Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) on the standard CBR 1000 RR-R and second-generation Öhlins Smart Electronic Control (S-EC) suspension and user interface on the CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade SP, 5-inch full-colour TFT instrumentation, a titanium exhaust jointly developed with Akrapovič, smart key, Nissin callipers on the standard model, Brembo Stylema brake callipers with 2-level ABS on the SP model and a quickshifter. 

Honda has started accepting bookings for the 2020 Honda CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade & Fireblade SP at its premium BigWing dealerships starting 30th July 2020.
