In terms of styling, the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom gets a rounded headlamp unit with chrome bezel, a black headlight garnish, a chromed upright handlebar for an ergonomic riding position, bold graphics on the fuel tank, black and chrome finished engine, oval air-cleaner, chrome finished timing cover, staggered shorty exhaust with dual mufflers finished in chrome, handlebar-mounted digital-analogue electronic instruments with speedometer, odometer, dual trip meter, low fuel warning light, low oil pressure light, time-of-day clock on odometer, engine diagnostics readout and LED telltale lamps.

In the engine department, the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom is powered by a 1202cc Air-Cooled V-Twin Evolution engine with an 88.9mm bore and 96.8mm stroke and a 10:1 compression ratio. The carburetion is through an Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) and the engine generates 97 Nm of torque at 4250 RPM. The cruiser gets a belt and pulley final drive.
