New Ford Mustang GT to be introduced by early 2021 in India

Ford launched its performance muscle car the Ford Mustang in the Indian market back in 2016 and the brand recently discontinued the Mustang as the fastback style muscle car has not received BS6 upgrades but Ford has introduced the 2020 updated model in the United States with refreshed exteriors and new equipment on the interiors. It is now being speculated that Ford will launch the new Mustang in the Indian market in early 2021 with these new changes. 

On the outside, the MY 2020 Ford Mustang features new LED headlamps and taillamps along with refreshed front and rear aprons, a new lower and sharper air dam and a more prominent grille. The bonnet also gets new design changes and features top vents to extract the heat away from the engine. The rear deck also features a new spoiler for added downforce. 

On the inside, the Ford Mustang comes with improved trim quality on the door pads new improved seats, a centrally mounted infotainment system recessed into the fascia and armed with smartphone connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. New changes also include new analogue dials paired with digital instrumentation that comes with a horizontal rev-counter and shift lights that prompt upshifts when the car is being driven in manual mode. 

The Ford Mustang is powered by a variety of engine configurations including a 2.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine that produces 310 Hp of power on the standard and 330 Hp of power on the High-Performance Package. A naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre DOHC Ti-VCT dual fuel port direct-injection V8 engine that makes 460 Hp of power on the Mustang GT and 480 Hp of power on the Bullit edition and a 5.1-litre naturally-aspirated DOHC Ti-VCT port fuel injection V8 with flat plate crankshaft that makes 526 Hp of power on the Shelby GT350 along with a 5.1-litre supercharged V8 engine with crossplane crankshaft that generates 760 Hp of power on the Shelby GT500. 

If the brand relaunches the Ford Mustang in India the muscle car is likely to come in the 5.0-litre NA V8 Mustang GT edition that makes 460 Hp of power. The brand is likely to offer a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. 

The new Ford Mustang GT is expected to arrive by the end of 2020 or early 2021 and is likely to be priced around the INR 75 lakh mark.
