Spotted testing, reports claim that this is the new 2020 Ducati Panigale 959 has been spotted testing and appears as a heavily revised and facelifted model. The test mule has been seen with the mechanical hardware and styling similar to the Panigale V4 R. The 2020 Ducati Panigale 959 is also likely to be called the Panigale V2, as per rumours.

If the rumours turn out to be true we could be looking at a much powerful Panigale 959 that is likely to develop around 170 BHP of power and will be more nimble and user-friendly than the 234 BHP Panigale V4 with performance pipes. But the Panigale 959 is likely to hone a majority of the components from the V4 such as its subframe, face, seat, front forks and brakes. The spy pictures that have emerged on the internet also show a single-sided swingarm which is not seen on the 959 but is available on the much bigger models.

The new 959 is speculated to be more powerful and may have a larger displacement engine. In its current essence, the Panigale 959 is powered by a 955cc, L-twin-cylinder, Desmodromic valve, Liquid-cooled, Superquadro engine that develops 150 HP of power @ 10,500 RPM and 102 Nm of torque @ 9,000 RPM paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

On the other hand, the Ducati Panigale V4 in its standard form is powered by a Desmosedici Stradale 1,103cc 90 degree, V-4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, Desmodromic 4 valve/cylinder, engine that produces  214 HP of power @ 13,000 RPM and 124 Nm of torque @ 10,000 RPM coupled to a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a Ducati Quick Shifter (DQS) along with a hydraulically controlled slipper assist clutch.

The mechanical hardware that the Panigale V4 features is a Aluminium Alloy frame and rides on 43mm fully adjustable Showa upside-down front fork and a fully adjustable Sachs unit on the aluminium single-sided swingarm. The brakes on the Panigale V4 are twin 330mm semi-floating disc with radially mounted Brembo Monobloc Stylema 4-piston callipers on the front and a 245mm disc with 2-piston calliper on the rear equipped with Bosch Cornering ABS EVO.

The Panigale 959 is priced at INR 15.30 lakh ex-showroom, India. The new facelifted model could be priced higher with all the additional equipment and power which is being speculated.
