2020 BS6 Nissan Kicks features & specifications officially revealed

Nissan is gearing up to launch the new 2020 BS6 compliant Kicks in the Indian market and though the brand has not revealed the launch date yet, but it has announced the features, variants, engine details and the exterior colour options offered on the compact SUV. 

The brand has now confirmed that the 2020 BS6 Nissan Kicks will come with 7 variants in manual and automatic transmission options. The 2020 BS6 Nissan Kicks will also come with various best-in-class features and a multitude of comfort and convenience features available on the vehicle as a standard part of the pack. 

The entry-level variant features automatic climate control with second-row AC vents, cooled glove box, Nissan Connect with Smartwatch connectivity, shark-fin antenna, Nissan’s twin parcel shelf, electrically adjustable ORVMs and safety features such as dual airbags, ABD+EBD, Brake Assist, impact sensing auto door unlock, speed sensing auto door lock etc. 

The compact SUV also features automatic headlamps, front fog lamps with cornering function, 360-degree camera, remote engine start, idle start-stop technology, rain-sensing wiper, dual-tone brown & black interior theme, leather-wrapped premium dual-tone cabin,  leather-wrapped soft-touch dashboard, etc. 

In the engine department, the 2020 Nissan Kicks is powered by a BS6 emissions-compliant 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 156 PS of power and 254 Nm of torque matched to a manual gearbox as well as an X-Tronic CVT transmission. 

The new 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine comes with Dual Variable Timing system reduces emissions and provides higher torque at low RPMs while the new X-Tronic CVT claims to be 40% more efficient than existing CVTs. To improve performance and efficiency the new engine also employs the use of a unique cylinder coating technology from the Nissan GT-R. The Nissan GT-R comes with a plasma-sprayed bore which enhances cooling, reduces friction and weight while maximizing power output and increasing fuel-efficiency.

In addition to the standard safety technology, higher-spec models feature four airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, vehicle stability management system, electronic stability control, traction control system, Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Cruise Control. 

The 2020 BS6 Nissan Kicks is offered in 7 variants including 2 automatic variants – XV, XV Premium, XV Premium (O) in Manual transmission. XV, XV Premium in X-Tronic CVT transmission and XL and XV in the BS6 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol option. The compact SUV also features six single colour options – Blade Silver, Night Shade, Bronze Grey, Fire Red, Pearl White, Deep Blue Pearl and three dual-tone colour options – Bronze Grey with Amber Orange, Fire Red with Onyx Black, and Pearl White with Onyx Black.

The brand also offers a standard two years/50,000 km warranty which can be extended to up to five years and free Roadside Assistance subscription for two years.
