2020 BS6 Mahindra XUV500 launched at INR 13.14 lakh

Mahindra has launched the new BS6 emission compliant Mahindra XUV500 at the price starting 13.14 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. The brand has updated the SUV with a BS6 standard diesel motor and dropped the entry-level W3 variant along with the all-wheel-drive options. The new base trim on the XUV500 is the W5 variant trim. The brand has not revealed the prices on the automatic transmission variants of the XUV500 and is expected to be revealed soon. 

Powering the Mahindra XUV500 is the new BS6 emission compliant 2.2-litre mHawk 155 series diesel motor with an Electronically Controlled Variable Geometry Turbocharger (eVGT) that produces 155 PS of power and 360 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed synchromesh manual or an optional 6-speed automatic unit.  

The XUV500 is 4,585mm in length, 1,890mm in width, 1,785mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,700mm and features all-independent suspension with McPherson type suspension with anti-roll bar on the front and a multilink with anti-roll bar suspension on the rear along with disc brakes on all four wheels with ventilated discs on the front end.

The BS6 model on the exterior remains virtually unchanged and the Mahindra XUV500 features vertical chrome studded grille, projector headlamps, cheetah tear-duct inspired black inserts on the LED daytime running lights, raised bonnet ridges, flared wheel arches, roof rails roof ridges, blacked-out pillars, numberplate garnish in chrome, dual exhaust mufflers and combination tail lamp. 

On the interior, the BS6 Mahindra XUV500 features a dual-tone dashboard with faux soft-touch leather, quilted leather seat upholstery, centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment with connectivity features, control mounted steering wheel, dual-pot rounded analogue-digital instrumentation, electric sunroof, etc. 

The XUV500 is available in 7 exterior paint options – Crimson Red, Mystic Copper, Opulent Purple, Volcano Black, Lakeside Brown, Pearl White and Moondust Silver.
