Force Motors has launched the 2020 BS6 emission compliant Trax Cruiser and Toofan in the Indian market with the starting price of INR 11 lakhs ex-showroom. The Trax Cruiser and Toofan are positioned as a people carrier targeted primarily at the commercial and rural markets and does not face any direct competition in India The 2020 BS6 updated models were first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi.
The Trax Toofan comes in four variants Trax Cruiser, Trax Cruiser Deluxe, Trax Toofan and Trax Toofan Deluxe. The new 2020 model comes with an improved C-in-C type chassis which offers more torsional rigidity than the outgoing model. The updated model also features highlights such as a new front facia, new headlamps and new bumpers with integrated fog lamps. The Cruiser and Toofan come with a new larger black grille, new graphics, black plastic wheel arches, an entry step for easier ingress and egress and redesigned door creases.
On the interiors, the Trax Cruiser and Toofan feature an all-new dual-tone dashboard finished in beige and black, an analogue speedometer and tachometer with a blue back-lit multi-information display in between, new seats finished in the same beige and black upholstery, rotary air-conditioning controls, round air-con vents, ergonomic grab handle on the A-pillar, a secondary roof-mounted air-con vent for the rear passengers etc. The Force Trax Cruiser comes in a 12+D / 9+D seating configuration and the Toofan comes with an 11+D seating configuration.
Both the Cruiser and Toofan are powered by an FM2.6CR CD series BS6 compliant 2.6-litre four-cylinder common rail diesel engine that produces 90 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed synchromesh gearbox. The Trax comes with independent front and rigid live axles on the rear with double-wishbone torsion bar suspension on the front and leaf springs on the rear.
Both Cruiser and Toofan measure 5120mm in length, 1818mm in width, 2027mm in height, 3050mm of wheelbase and comes with a 160mm ground clearance.
