2020 Benelli TNT 600i 4-cylinder sportsbike, minor changes & BS6 engine

Written by Parichay Malvankar

While we have all been excited about a new-generation of the 600cc, 4-cylinder Benelli naked motorcycle, the brand seems to have silently updated their product with minor changes. The 2020 Benelli TNT 600i has been revealed with a new headlamp, updates to the engine, and a few other cosmetic additions.

The most important change is that the 600cc, liquid-cooled, in-line 4-cylinder motor now produces 81.6 HP of power and 51 Nm of torque which is down from 85.07 HP and 54.6 Nm of the older model. This new model is expected to be BS6 compliant and meet other emission norms requirement where this bike is sold. But while power is down, that is not the only downside for the updated model. The bike is also heavier by 3 kg tipping the scale at 234 kg which makes it one of the heaviest 600cc motorcycles on sale in India.

The 2020 Benelli TNT 600i will come with a new LED headlamp new full TFT colour display speedometer cluster and possibly new pillion grab rails along with new body colours and decals. Other elements like the steel trellis chassis, USD front fork, rear monoshock, dual front disc brakes, 17″ alloy wheels, underseat dual exhausts, etc. remain unchanged.

The motorcycle which leaked via spyshots earlier is not ready for a market debut yet. We have learnt that this model will continue to remain on sale for a while. The bike primarily rivals the likes of Kawasaki Z650, but is the most affordable 4-cylinder motorcycle in India. Also the best sounding motorcycle for the price as well. We’re expecting Benelli to introduce this updated TNT 600i with a BSVI compliant motor by or before April 2020 with a bump in price tag obviously.
