Yamaha has revealed the 2019 YZF-R3 motorcycle in Indonesia. This bike was spotted on road tests on international soil for a long time now, and finally, we have a clear view of what it will look like. This facelift model of the Yamaha YZF-R3 is expected to make a debut in India by early 2019.
The bike now looks very different from the outgoing model, especially from the front profile. The 2019 YZF_R3 gets an all-new fairing, new windscreen, new LED headlamps, ram air intake, full digital instrument console, new fuel tank design, better knee recess, 22mm lower handlebar for engaging riding position, but still no LED turn indicators.
Powering the 2019 Yamaha YZF-R3 will be the same 321cc, liquid-cooled motor which is a in-line twin-cylinder block producing 42 PS of power and 29.6 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. Yamaha claims that the new redesign has lead to 8 kmph increase in top speed. The bike gets ABS, a dual channel setup.
Currently, the YZF-R3 retains at INR 3.49 lakh ex-showroom in India. Pricing of the new YZF-R3 could be bumped up. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 already undercuts the Yamaha YZF-R3 pricing by a huge margin, Yamaha might have to look into this for sure.
