Mahindra just concluded the 2019 edition of the Club Challenge and Thar Fest. The Club Challenge is an off-road competition where 4×4 clubs from across the country come and fight it out for the top honours on a challenging and technical course set by Mahindra Adventure.
PS. We won the 1st runner up award for the media round of the club challenge 2019.
This year, there were 11 off-roading clubs competing for the Club Challenge which was organised in Kochi. A total of 7 obstacle courses including the iconic demolition event was to be seen, enjoyed and tackled. This also marked the 4th edition of the Thar Fest where all Mahindra Thar owners are invited to come and join the family and drive around in a convoy showing off their uniquely modified / customized Thar SUVs.
The Mahindra Thar is an icon. This SUV which is going to be discontinued soon due to the upcoming emission and crash test norms still has immense fan following across the off-road family. Also, those who own the current generation Thar should probably hold on to their vehicles for now. Mahindra however is also working on a new generation of the Thar SUV which will be bigger, better, efficient and more technologically advanced. However, there is a strong chance it might lose the rugged charm.
At the 2019 Club Challenge and Thar Fest, there was a Thar Parade, experience zone for understanding how 4×4 works, display of customized cars, vintage car display, live music, merchandise, and more…
Teams that participated in the 2019 Club Challenge included KROC, BODA, EJAMSA, KTM Jeepers, Team Flywheel, NIOC, R&T Autocatalyst, Kerala Adventure Sports Club, Kannur Jeepers, and Extreme Riders Motorsports Club of Meghalaya.
